How it works
How international embryo shipping works
Six steps, planned around both clinics and your treatment timeline. A typical mission takes 3 to 4 days door to door.
Request a quote
Tell us the releasing clinic, the receiving clinic and your preferred dates. You get a personalized quote within 24 hours.
Paperwork and approvals
We coordinate with both clinics on consent forms, release documents and any import requirements for the destination country.
Flight planning
Your courier’s flights are booked in advance around both clinics’ schedules.
Pickup
The courier arrives with a charged dry shipper. The clinic’s embryologists load your specimens and sign the chain-of-custody documents.
Hand-carry journey
The courier carries the dry shipper as hand luggage and never leaves it, including during the flight itself. 24/7 GPS and temperature logging, and no X-ray screening.
Delivery
The receiving clinic transfers the specimens into its own storage and signs for them. A temperature report is available on request.
Why hand-carry
A dedicated courier, not a cargo label
Commercial cryoshipping
- The tank travels alone as cargo
- Passes through several hands and sorting facilities
- May go through scanners
- No one on the spot if a flight is delayed
LifeParcel hand-carry
- One dedicated courier from pickup to delivery
- No handoffs and no cargo holds
- No X-ray screening, ever
- The courier reacts immediately to any flight change

Built-in safety margins
21 days of cold for a 3 to 4 day mission
The dry shippers we use hold -196°C for up to 21 days, several times longer than a typical mission. That margin protects your specimens if a flight is cancelled or a document takes longer than expected.
In all our missions, we have never had to open a tank at customs.

Frequently asked questions
How long does international embryo transport take?
A typical mission takes 3 to 4 days door to door. Paperwork and approvals before the mission can take longer, depending on the countries and clinics involved.
Can embryos travel on a passenger plane?
Yes. A properly charged dry shipper contains no free liquid nitrogen, so our courier carries it in the cabin as hand luggage and keeps it at hand for the entire flight.
Do I need to travel with my embryos?
No. Your LifeParcel courier handles the journey, and both clinics handle the transfer in and out of storage.
How quickly can you arrange a transfer?
We send a quote within 24 hours. The earliest travel date depends on both clinics and on any approvals needed for the destination country. More answers are on our FAQ page.
